Stratford City Needs You

• Young people explore and celebrate the world of work and gain understanding of the skills and attributes required for employment
• Raise an awareness of the range of employment opportunities in Stratford City and London borough of Newham through the regeneration taking place
• Help prepare young people for future economic well-being. and widen aspirations for future employment

Stratford City is an ambitious regeneration project in the heart of Newham, which will go out and attract businesses and visitors to its European business quarter and develop a strong national and international brand.

This project is to design a resource that allows pupils to explore the skills and attributes of the various jobs coming to the new city and help prepare pupils for future economic well-being.

Working collaboratively and using visits and visitors to deliver the project across the curriculum the pupils were able to utilise their skills particularly in ICT, Art and Design, PSHCE along with further developing their literacy and numeracy skills.

The resource can be used across the primary school to support the delivery of the Every Child Matters agenda as well as bring the community in to work with the school. It promotes the ideals that preparing for future success starts at primary school.
