About NEBP

Through its links with business and the community, Newham Education Business Partnership (NEBP) will help young people in Newham schools and colleges develop the skills and qualities needed for the world of work.

Mission Statement

In order to achieve the Vision the Partnership will:

  • Raise the aspirations of all those with whom it is involved
  • Take the leading role in bringing together schools and businesses in order to promote access to employment for young people in Newham
  • Meet the requirements of its clients and tailor its programmes to meet their needs
  • Create and deliver programmes which maximise the opportunities presented by the regeneration
  • of Newham and to help achieve the Council's vision
  • Recruit and retain staff who are motivated and able to work flexibly

Strategic Aims


AIM 1: Contribute to the development of pupils' literacy, numeracy and other key skills

AIM 3: Encourage aspiration and raise self-esteem to enable young people in Newham to make positive life choices

AIM 4: Deliver Work Experience programmes

Co-ordination of Newham Schools' Placements Extensive Data Base of Providers Risk Assessments by Qualified Staff
Health and Safety Checks Certification Evaluation


AIM 5: Support the development of clear 14-19 progression routes including the “Aim Higher” programme

Links with Higher Education Apprenticeships Vocational Pathways


In meeting these aims, the Partnership will ensure that all actions take account of Newham’s inclusion policies, involve all appropriate stakeholders and recognise the challenges they face, particularly in the case of small businesses. Successful delivery will only be possible through effective partnership working.

The Partnership believes it is uniquely placed to achieve its Vision as it:

  • has a strong focus on schools and close links with teachers and senior managers, developed over many years
  • has a close working relationship with Newham Council and is receptive to the needs of local residents, businesses and public bodies
  • has a team of highly motivated people with an up-to-date knowledge of education and the world of work
  • has a large and ever-growing database of partner organisations from key employment sectors
  • is a registered charity, independent of any other public or private organisation
