Aims & Objectives

Continuing Professional Development placements give teachers and school staff an insight into current practices and future trends. They also provide participants with opportunities to up-date their own personal skills and knowledge.. Furthermore experiences gained will enable teachers to be confident in providing guidance to their students preparing for the world of work.  Training needs are met usually within a business or industrial setting by providing a flexible and customised programme of activities.

Description of Activity

NEBP recruits businesses for suitable professional development placements.
NEBP also finalises the arrangements between business, teachers and school staff. The professional development placement typically takes from a few hours to one day and will differ greatly depending on what business will be providing them. Typically it will mean teachers and staff will visit the premises of a business to be given a guided tour or seminar on the business or a particular relevant area of the business. When the placement is completed, NEBP handles evaluation of the development placement.
