Work Experience Placement
What is Work Experience?
Each year the Newham Work Experience Team (NEBP) organise over 4,000 work experience placements that provide students with an insight into the working environment. Work Experience is an organised educational activity that forms part of a student’s education. This will be a placement on an employer’ s premises in which a student will carry out a range of tasks or duties, more or less as an employee would but with the focus on the learning aspects of the business.
Aims of Work Experience
By working alongside adults as part of a team, developing new skills and becoming more confident, work experience can make a significant contribution to learning and development. It also helps deliver aspects of the curriculum, including the Diplomas. Each student is equipped with a Work Experience Diary which they need to complete during their time with the employer. This enables them to record and evaluate their experience and gives the employer the opportunity to give feedback on their performance.
