Extended Work Experience Placements
Aims & Objectives
The aim of this programme is to provide pupils with hands-on experience over a longer period of time to prepare the student for the world of work by giving them the skills and qualities needed.
Description of Activity
The extended Work Experience Placement is part of a larger programme that
aims to keep engaging students in education. For two days a week a student
will follow and alternative curriculum outside of school. For one day a week
this will be an Extended Work Experience Placement provided by the NEBP.
The NEBP will try to find a suitable Work Placement for the student that will
accommodate his wishes for the future and the student will be properly prepared
for his placement. Our Engagement Co-ordinator will make sure that the student
will take his Extended Work Experience Placement seriously, as it will be her
job to monitor the students and keep in touch with businesses. This way the
NEBP will make sure all needs of the students and businesses are met and the
experience will be rewarding for both parties.
What we Need
To provide placement for more than 100 students we are always in need for businesses that are prepared to take on a student on an Extended Work Experience Placement for 1 day a week for one school year or even two school years. We are looking for businesses in all kind of sectors and industries. If your business is willing to help us out please contact our Engagement Co-ordinator Laura Yearsley.
