Forest Gate and Plaistow SRB5 Programme
Lasting seven years (it is due to come to an end in 2006) the Forest Gate & Plaistow SRB5 is a £92 million regeneration programme. The aim of the programme is for Forest Gate and Plaistow to become a first choice locality with thriving and renewed neighbourhoods.
To achieve this the programme hopes to achieve the following outputs:
- create 250 jobs and help 8000 residents access job opportunities
- train over 840 people
- create 150 private sector homes and improve a further 2000
- improve 100 local authority dwellings
- create 50 new housing association homes, and improve 300 existing ones
- create new recreational, environmental and cultural facilities
- support over 120 voluntary and community organisations
